My second pair of Tide Shorts, having managed to grab the off-white ones just before they went out of stock last time. The tomato red is a vibrant, cheerful colour, and, like the off-white shorts, the linen feels both weighty and supple. They have a generous swing to them, which gives the feeling of culottes. I’m a 10 waist, 12 hips and bought the size 12. They sit high on the hips, just below the waist, which is incredibly comfortable and flattering. I’m 5’5”, and the shorts finish just on the knee for me. They hit that sweet spot - long enough that they can be worn in the city without feeling you’re exposing too much leg, but short enough that the narrower area between the lower knee and calf is visible (I find long shorts/culottes that finish on the calf can be unflattering). I’d love them in other colours - maybe cobalt blue?
