Kate Allan
sea-m started with one (or perhaps every) woman’s very real problem: shorts that simply didn’t fit. (Yes, she has hips. And a bum. And no, beige wasn't cutting it.) Kate had always loved linen - the effortless drape, the lightweight feel - but was tired of the same old palette: white, black, repeat. Where was the colour? The tailoring? The kind of pieces that felt relaxed and refined, in sunny shades and flattering shapes.
After 20 years in the design, editorial and advertising world - shaping the look and feel of fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands - Kate decided it was time to do her own thing. Enter: sea-m. A sunshine-soaked collection of thoughtfully tailored, endlessly wearable linen pieces in tones that turn heads and moods.
Inspired by years living between the shores of her beloved Abersoch and more recently Hampshire, Kate's life by the sea - and on the road - has informed every stitch. From sailing escapes with her family and road trips with girlfriends, to daily dog walks with Cilla and Dusty, every experience has inspired the fit, silhouette, design and colour palette of her pieces.
And yes, sustainability runs through it all. These are slow-made, forever kind of pieces designed to age well, wear better, and make getting dressed feel just that little bit more fun.
